Lorissa Letwin

Lorissa Letwin, MT-BC is a Teaching Artist and Board Certified Music Therapist working in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul Public Schools, and also provides in-home music therapy services to individuals throughout the twin cities. Lorissa received her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2013, and received her Master’s in Music Therapy in May of 2016 from the University of Minnesota. Lorissa currently works with children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, developmental disorders, behavior disorders, and cognitive delays in the early childhood special education classrooms and in-home settings, providing music interventions and adapted music lessons to assist in academic development, functional life skills, and movement and music exploration.

Lorissa also works in the community to provide piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities. Her passion and dedication to music, music therapy, and music education have led her to become a member of the American Music Therapy Association and the Music Therapy Association of Minnesota. Lorissa has a client-centered approach, meeting the needs and developmental levels of each individual or group, and strives to provide positive and engaging music experiences to help maintain or improve quality of life and development.
